Menthol
Common names: Curled mint or Balm mint
Parts used are leaves or stalks. Mint contains essential oil with high content of menthol; then there are bitter substances, tannins and flavonoids. The essential oil has mild effects for spasm relief. Menthol is cooling and eases pain. Externally Mint is used for tension-type headaches or swellings where it cools, promotes blood circulation and refreshes.
